My research interest includes Native American diaspora, primatology, and
kinship. Currently, I am investigating a captive group of macaques at the
California Regional Primate Research Center for alloparental behaviors and
degrees of relatedness. Captive macaque females have been suspect of
exchanging, kidnapping or adopting lower ranking newborns and by examining
the genetics of the "observed" maternal-infant dyads, I will determine the
frequency of these 'adoptions". Future analysis will consist of
investigating the Caddoan Diaspora by examining the language and genetic
diversity of the Pawnee, Quapaw, Cherokee, and Arikara nations of Oklahoma
