News and New Projects
With two other faculty members in the Evolutionary Wing (Richard McElreath and Bruce Winterhalder) I run a weekly lab meeting attended by graduate students, post docs and other faculty members such as Sarah Hrdy and Pete Richerson. We read recent papers, evaluate each other’s work, experiment with ideas for grant proposals, and invite visitors to UCD colloquia series. Focal topics so far this year have been:
- The use of statistical methods and model building in hypothesis testing
- Models of mutual mate choice
- Religion and conservation
